JAKARTA, POSTINGNEWS.ID - The Regent of Sidoarjo, East Java, Ahmad Muhdlor Ali or who is familiarly called Gus Muhdlor has been prevented by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) from traveling abroad.

Head of the KPK News Division, Ali Fikri, said that the prevention of Ahmad Muhdlor Ali had been submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) for 6 months.
"A prevention application has been submitted to the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia for the first 6 months so that the person concerned remains in Indonesian territory," said Ali Fikri to the media crew, on Tuesday 16 April 2024.
"What is meant by the party being prevented is the actual Regent of Sidoarjo," he continued.
Ali Fikri explained that the precautions were taken for the sake of examining Gus Muhdlor in this case.
The application for prevention has been submitted to the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights for further processing.
"This was done because the investigation into alleged corruption in cutting and receiving money within the Sidoarjo Regency BPPD is currently developing, and the involvement of related parties is needed to be cooperative when summoned by the investigative team," he continued.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had named the Regent of Sidoarjo, Ahmad Muhdlor Ali, as a suspect regarding alleged cuts to ASN incentives within the BPPD.
"It's true, the person concerned (Ahmad Muhdlor Ali) has served as regent of Sidoarjo Regency from 2021 until now," said Ali Fikri.
However, Ali has not provided further details regarding Ahmad Muhdlor Ali's alleged role in the article.
The Corruption Eradication Commission also promised to provide further explanation regarding the gradual development of the case to the public.
